In Solidarity with Sustainable Growth
Areas of Focus
THE GIG-ECONOMY
Urbanization and the fourth industrial revolution bring opportunities and challenges for gig workers. Awareness of their importance was our initial step. We studied Dhaka's rider economy to grasp income instability, workload disparities, and the impacts of the intermediaries. Now, we're expanding with a grassroots platform connecting geographically limited gig workers in the informal economy.
CHILDREN IN STREET SITUATION
To enhance clarity and promote inclusivity, we refer to 'street children' as CSS (Children in Street Situations). Our approach to CSS intervention programs is reserved; we collaborate with other NGOs rather than initiating projects independently. Our primary objective is to gain a comprehensive understanding and establish a theory of change for interventions applicable across various subcultures.
URBAN EQUITY
Urbanization leads to stark inequality in modern cities. We help bridge this gap by offering legal aid to poor urban settlers, providing market-oriented training to marginalized populations to help integrate ‘slum’ communities into the city's mainstream.
KNOWLEDGE DISSEMINATION
We understand that development activism must go hand in hand with development discourse. That's why we collaborate with scholars in the social sciences to produce 'Discourses on Development,' our annual print publication. The 2023 edition explored urban inequality, transitions, and the prevailing development studies paradigms.
